Become a member by establishing a pre-paid house account, and be an important part of creating TABLE Local Market. Promote the vision, while having priority access to whole food at reasonable prices. Support small scale, regional and sustainable farming and encourage sound ecological practices. The ‘Community of TABLE’ will be a place to learn and share information about food, farming and the environment at the market and through email newsletters, classes, and educational activities.
Why support TABLE? Why become a Founding Member of TABLE?
TABLE is a Community-Supported Market (CSM) , a phrase coined from Community-Supported Agriculture. CSA is a relatively new socio-economic model of food production, sales, and distribution aimed at both increasing the quality of food and the quality of care given the land, plants and animals – while substantially reducing potential food losses and financial risks for the producers.
TABLE as a CSM will follow the CSA model by encouraging consumer involvement through subscription based on entire year funding and connections to farmers. By CSM theory, as the consumer commits to the market, we can in turn make larger scale and sustainable commitments to farmers and producers.
